Neighbour Aid Pets

Pets can be wonderful therapy – just ask any pet owner how much better they feel when their pet is around.  And just because you are frail-aged or disabled doesn’t mean you can’t experience the joy owning your own dog can bring.

Inner West Neighbour Aid (IWNA) and RSPCA NSW work together to find the right pet to provide companionship for people with special needs.  In this week’s short tails we meet Daniel and June who have both seen their lives improve after they were matched with the right dog and received ongoing pet-care support through IWNA and the RSPCA. As Daniel said of his dog: “I feel better with him around than I have with any anti-depressant.”
