Animal Management in Rural & Remote Indigenous Communities (AMRRIC)
Educating people about animal welfare can lead to significant positive change. So RSPCA NSW was pleased to share its tips and techniques with seven animal management trainees from the Northern Territory recently.
The trainees from Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities (AMRRIC) typically work in communities of around 500 people, and 200 dogs — some families can live with up to 12 dogs! And while the humans are generally open to improving the welfare of their pets, catching the dogs in a town where fences are optional can be the biggest challenge!
Nevertheless, there was plenty of common ground to share.
